It’s not an Achilles heel, he said.

In an interview with Campus Insiders, Ricky Williams, the former NFL running back who’s never been shy about discussing his love of the occasional toke, was asked what role marijuana played in his football career. But rather than look at his fondness for marijuana as a negative, Williams said he believed it was a strength, then referenced a famous cartoon character who loved a different kind of green.
“I don’t agree that it was an Achilles heel, I kind of think it was more like spinach for Popeye.”
That’s a good line, Ricky.
Williams is now the running backs coach at the University of Incarnate Word, where he sleeps in a dorm room with Avengers sheets on his bed.
