New Rule

Looks like the NFL and Roger Godell listen to the Pigskin Podcast. We came up with the idea of an independent medical advisor who can oversee any hit and make sure the team has that player checked for concussion. New rule implemented yesterday by executive decision. No waiting, no meetings with owners or competition committee. Just decisive action to protect the players. Kudos NFL! Kudus for your action and for listening to The Pig! Spread it, Roger!

Peyton

Mr. Manning had a check up today on his surgically repaired neck. In layman's terms, either it worked or it didn't. The reason for the surgery and the desired post-op time is now, so depending on what they said today could greatly impact his future as a player. We shall see soon. Best case, he plays in week 17. Worst, he's retiring. Good Luck Peyton. Hope it was good news.

Did anyone else catch the look on John Elway's face as Tebow scored with :59 left in game to win, capping a 95 yd drive? You've not seen nothing like the Mighty Tim. In all the Tebow deification, no one has mentioned how spectacular Von Miller is playing. Sure helps offense to hold a team to 13 points. Thursday Night Football!!

AFC West foes, Chargers host the Raiders. Short weeks for both teams, which may help Rivers have amnesia of his screw ups this past Sunday. Although Carson Palmer might benefit too, 3 picks and 3 TD's last week.

We've got Bush. I repeat, we've got Bush. Michael Bush starts for McFadden for the 2nd straight week. Both teams 4-4 and both need to get out of a funk! Either the game will kick ass or their funk will permeate and stink out So. Cal and maybe start a wildfire.

Rematch of the year and a slobber knocker of a game--Pittsburg Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens!! One of the best rivalries in the NFL these days. Can Steelers rebound from week 1 ass whoopin'? I'm sure the players will down play the game, but you know they will bring it on Sunday. I do believe there was a fake extra point by Baltimore in the third quarter to rub it in a bit during their first meeting. I'm sure the Steelers remember it clearly. Should be a great old fashioned, hard hitting game.

The Dolphins are so bad, they are celebrating the Bronco's QB change. Tim Tebow era begins today and at least 20,000 tickets have been sold in south Florida to see him. Amazing. These are some of the big games we are looking forward to in week 6 of the NFL.
1. Lions/49ers, the Mariucci Bowl should be an old school game with two unlikely good young teams.
2. Can Romo out duel Brady? Remember, the last team to hold the Patriots to under 30 pts in last 13 games was my Brownies. Rob Ryan was D-Coordinator then and , you guessed it, now works for Dallas. Someone has to loose. Should be a doozy.
3. Redskins, off a bye, battles a divisional foe in the Eagles. Can the Eagles get their heads out of their arses and get a much needed win?
4. It will be interesting to see if Buffalo can continue this run and, if the Giants can rebound from a loss to the freakin Seahawks. Who will we talk to Monday night Happy Eli or Mad Eli?

Al Davis, pioneer and maverick, has passed away at age 82. For all you younger fans who think of Al as a crazy old man in a sweat suit, check out old NFL films on the AFL/NFL merger. He was instrumental at making the game what it is today. Rest in peace Al.
